Search Feature Craps Out with Apostrophe in Products Search

I think this is a known issue. I'd imagine the apostrophe's are not being cancelled out in the code, but I'm no programmer.

I set up a search for products on my website, and it works perfectly until someone adds a apostrophe to the search box. Then it spits out nothing. For example, Captain D's is a restaurant in our list, but when someone enters "Captain D's" into the search field, it spits out nothing. If someone enters "Captian", it spits out Captain D's.

Has there been a fix to this? Am I doing something wrong here? I'm using 1.10.
