Hi, I'm new to this as I'm not the person who upgrades our site, I just update. Since he's away, I thought I would seek help here. I hope this is the right board for this question.
I believe this is our version: CMS Made Simple™ 1.9.4.2 "Faanui".
The problem: when I want to add/change content on a page, for both the sidebar and the content, the icons for the fonts, inserting images, etc. have disappeared. The bar is still there but the icons aren't. So, I can type, but I can't format. If I right click I can insert an image or link, cut, copy, past and align the text.
Any easy to follow solutions, suggestion, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

There are many post as to how to get tinyMCE working, assuming that is what your problem is...
In tiny admin advanced tab is a reset all to default, hit that...
There are sometimes problems with folder permissions, did this just happen one day, maybe your host changed something?...
In extensions > modules you can try to uninstall/install it...
