[solved] restore changes made to template*

I hope I am posting the question on the right place…

I am newbie and a beginner;

I tried to change a few small things on a layout template done by a pro. Everything was going ok, until I decided to copy back the original template and then… instead of hitting the "submit" button, by mistake I hit the "apply" button.

I don't really know what is the difference, but the site design has disappeared leaving only a plain text on a white background.

My question is this: is there any way to undo every single change done on the site and restore everything? If yes, how do I do it?

In your case the "submit" and "apply" button have the same impact, that of saving your changes. Without access to your CMS admin panel it is hard to know exactly what is going on, but here are a few things you can look into:

1. Start with the page that is not rendering properly, and look for the associated template
2. Edit the template and make sure it is exactly like your pro had given you in the first place - if necessary paste it back from the original version
3. Double check that the stylesheets provided by the pro are still associated with that template - if not, fix the association.
