linking content areas from one install of CMSMS to another

Is there a way to have a script which exists purely to share content between CMSMS installations? I.e. - my australian website has php in its templates which passes a page alias/id to a script on my U.S. site which looks up the associated content for that page?

Are the sites mostly similar, with just a few changes? If so, you could merge them into a single CMSMS installation and use the MultiDomain module along with AdvancedContent to choose which content to show on each domain.

There's also the ContentAliases module which allows you to display identical content on multiple pages.

I'm not sure if either of those solutions would work for you, but it's an idea.
