Hello and thanks for reading,
I did a backup, upgrade, and now I have to restore due to several issues with the upgraded site.
I restored my db - no problems. I moved all the old files into an archive directory and uploaded my backup.
Now I get the site up but no menus. On the admin side I can not see any of the modules this site once had - until I go to the Modules. Then they all reappear in the drop down menus. When I try to access a module like albums I get this error:
Fatal error: Call to a member function GetFriendlyName() on a non-object in ../admin/moduleinterface.php on line 125
I'm hoping its a permissions issue - but I can't seem to nail it down.
Please advise if possible. Thank you very much!
Tim

Hello Thanks for the reply,
I did read that thread and verified my paths are correct in the config.php. I also followed the install guide and made file permission changes - still no joy.
Thanks for posting.

Re: Restored site is missing menus & modules
I decided to turn debug on and now get this error along with the one posted above:
Notice: Undefined index: ModuleManager in /home/redoubt/redoubtrealty.com/admin/moduleinterface.php on line 125
It's very strange. When I log into the admin side I don't see *any* of the add-on modules until I click on the *modules* menu. Then they all reappear in the drop down lists. The error above is generated when I try to click on the MenuManager...
Next I tried to install a new module to see if I could access it and if I would get any error that clue me in. I chose the filebackup module. It installed with no problem. It is present in the menu and does not disappear. I can also click on filebackup and I get the page up right away for configuration.
This leads me to believe maybe something is missing from the database or perhaps I need to reindex the database?
Would really appreciate any input that could help.
Thank you,
Tim

Re: Restored site is missing menus & modules
Did you clear the cache in Site Admin >> Global Settings >> Advanced Setup ?
If its not that simple,
I have had some success removing the modules from the module folder (i would move into another folder just in case) and re-downloading the xml's and manually uploading the modules.
I would also start with a fresh modules folder from the zip, then manually upload the modules.

Re: Restored site is missing menus & modules
I took your lead and removed the menu manager and then reinstalled it. The menus are back. I don't understand why this works when the files and database restored with no error.
I also restored the db and the files to a local test server with no problems....
Still - I can't mark as resolved because I still have issues with the album module which this site uses heavily. Yesterday I tried to uninstall the album module and reinstall only to find that deleted my db entries for the albums previously created...restored the site.
Next I'll try your advice to manually move the album dir into an archive and then manually upload the files.

Re: [Solved] Restored site is missing menus & modules
This problem is resolved thanks to outside help. He told me that my problem was the db had a different version logged for the Albums module than what I had installed.
Otherwise, removing and installing the modules resolved the menu issue and other issues such as the search not working.
