Installation not working with DB Sql backup...

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

Installation not working with DB Sql backup...

Post by fearmydesign »

Hello, I have followed the normal (I think) steps on the following thread: http://forum.cmsmadesimple.org/viewtopi ... e+recovery
for backing up my site, but its not working...

Here is what I did:
1) I had an installation on subdomain.mydomain.com
2) made a backup of the database file (phpmyadmin/export sql)
3) I did a new installation of CMSMS on newdomain.com
4) Installation successful/everything working
5) then I tried importing the old sql database backup, and phpmyadmin said "it" was successful as well...

But when I go to my site, I don't see any of the old templates, stylesheets or pages that I had before... !!???

:-\ can anyone help me?

Thank you
Rod

Yes, I can see the database using phpmyadmin - for example I go to my database and I looked for cms_templates and I see that there are the 3 templates I had originally created, but I don't see them on my new installation. Thank you

clear cache into "site admin"
You have to do this each time you change your config.php

Then unflag "Allow Browser to Cache Pages" for a little time or more

At the end try surfing with a browser cache cleaned

Hi Gienpiero, thank you but its not working...
I went to Site Admin/Advanced Setup and Clear Cache
Then I unChecked Allow Browser to Cache Pages
I cleared my browsers history (everything) and tried again, but nothing is happening...

I still do not see my templates or pages created when I go into my admin panel...

This may seem like a silly question, but did you update your config.php to point to the correct database instance (the ince where you restored the database from backup)? You may want to double-check those settings.
