Could it be anything to do with this bug? Apparently when you're using MySQL higher than version 5.0, certain tables aren't written to the database. There is a fix given on the link above.

I've just come across the same problem on one of my sites since upgrading the CMS from 1.8.2 to 1.9.4.3 and Cataloguer from 0.7.7 to 0.9. The pictures remain, but all the item descriptions etc have disappeared, from both the front and back end :'(

However, the fix didn't work for me. My site uses MySQL 5.086. I'm going to have to try and downgrade Cataloguer and see if that works, unless anyone here has any other ideas?

Just in case anyone finds this useful in the future, there is a solution. I noticed that the original poster had asked this question in the 'unofficial' German forum, where it was solved.

Basically, follow the steps given in the solution mentioned in the bug report linked to in my post above. You then need to go into the module's admin area and set up all of your fields again, specifying their names, input types, character limits etc... You then need to check all your items, as I found that some of mine were missing certain bits of information: probably because the fields were named slightly differently the first time around.

Hope this helps.

Hi,
There is bug in the file: method_install.php in version 0.9 of the module. I tried to describe the solution on Bug Tracker page, in the ticket: "[#5681] $notes field not present on Content Edit screen"
