I have an almost complete site using version 1.8.2 php 5.2.17 and php memory limit of 24M. All was working fine and nearly ready to launch..
As of today the 'Pages' menu stopped displaying any pages, worked again after logging out / back in. Tried contacting Host they say no problems their end.
Tried this fix I saw in the Forum which worked for another user with same issue: "go to your mysql database, select cms_siteprefs table, change the urlcheckversion field's value to "none" " After trying this now I can't see any Pages content at all, even if I logout & back in. (and I can't seem to undo this change as I can't find that setting listed now?) Can see all my templates in the CMS and also css files, the file manager content etc, just the pages that have strangely disappeared.
The site is still working fine in web browser, all the content appears to be ok.
Any assistance would be gratefully received by this stressed-out CMSMS newbie.
thanks
Jason

Re: Disappearing pages
I just had a similar issue and found your post as I was frantically looking for an answer. Not sure if you're still experiencing this, or anyone else is, but I figured I'd try to help out and get this solved.
I upgraded to 1.9.4.2 recently, and then noticed the menus had disappeared from the site. When I logged into the admin panel, I noticed that all the pages were gone from the Content/Pages section as well, even though they all were still there on the site itself.
In trying to solve this, I noticed my footer had a manually created menu to the "site map" and "contact" pages, and they used the outdated "cms-selflinks" selections. When I removed those, all appeared well and good again on the site. I'm not sure how or why this solved it, but it did.
Good luck!

Re: Disappearing pages
You can also try enabling debug in the config. That might shed some light on what's breaking.

NM.... that idea doesn't work. Ironically I'm having the same issue now and turning on debug didn't do anything.

Re: Disappearing pages
Maybe try upgrading CGExtensions module, if you have it installed?

Re: Disappearing pages
I do have it installed, but the version of that module shouldn't affect base functionality of the cms. I have a mirror of this install on another server that I'm not having any issues with at all.

Re: Disappearing pages
I believe I read about that phenomenon in another forum topic when I was having another (related) issue on a different site. Once I upgraded the module, all was well again.

Re: Disappearing pages
I updated the extension and still couldn't see the pages. I then cleared the cache (which in hindsight I can't remember if I tried that before the upgrade) and can now see the pages.
@Jason - have you tried clearing cache?

Re: Disappearing pages [solved]
Thanks kidcardboard. Clearing the cache solved the problem for me too on a new install of 1.9.4.3, no other modules.
