[Solved] Multilingual site, how?

Post by janaf »

I had the MLE installed on a three-language site. I have uninstalled it MLE as it is no longer supported and updated.

Now my question is how I can make a three-language site again?

What I want is something like this (but I am open for other suggestions):

- Content in (three) different languages. It does not need to be the same tree structure for all languages, but I do not want three completely separate sites / CMSMS installations.

- Separate HOME link for each language which directs to the top of the tree for that language.

- Separate language setting (CMSMS language) and country code for date etc.

- A first page could be either select language only, or content in the default language.

- Language setting saved over sessions (cookie) so that subsequent visits direct to the same language version on revisit.

- A solution that is as far as possible does not need re-coding on updating of the CMSMS core.

Is there any module that does something like this and that does not require a lot of in-depth programming knowledge?

Thanks all!

I went with the mlecms and it works fine for me, once I found the options for menue, and how to modify it depending on language. It took some template modifications but none complicated.

I should just add that for CMSMS 1.10 it has been announced some basics for multilanguage support will be added to the core code, while the actual functionality will be left to module developers.

So we may expect changes in the near future, and this posting may soon be obsolete.
