Running CMSMS without CMSSESSID cookie

Post by essexboyracer »

As the title suggests, is this possible? with reference to the new EU Cookie ePrivacy laws that came in on May 26th and effect UK based organisations

I am not a UK citizen, or expert in the new EU cookie law... ;)

But is it really required to work without cookies at all? As far as I understood is it OK to store cookies for the working of a site (f.e. language storing, storing of sessions for ecommerce etc....) as long as it is needed for the functionality of the working AND when it is stated when entering the backend.

So in 1.10, a short text will appear that states that cookies will be stored when logging in the backend, to function....

No its not a requirement to work without cookies at all.

I am coming from the perspective of someone that builds simple sites (functionally) where the only cookies used are CMSMS and Google analytics (someimes wordpress comments, but I can work around that).

I am looking for a solution where i can minimise cookie use to the bare minimum to adhere to the law, this means Google analytics only

by getting consent by some mechanism to allow cookies for GA, the only one I found was http://www.wolf-software.com/Downloads/jpecrga/
