Newbie - how to actually install a Tag from the Forge

Can someone tell me or point me to the notes on actually adding a TAG downloaded from the Forge please.

Basically you just put function.tagname.php in your plugin directory.

If you need more help let me know which tag you're trying to install and I can write up some better instructions.
