i've upgraded a 1.8 CMSMS to 1.9.4.2 "Faanui" CMSMS but the Search engine friendly URLS do not seem to have activated.
i cannot find any docs to point me in the right direction so i wonder if anyone can help?

upgrade to 1.9.4.2 "Faanui" - SEO friendly URLs not working
Re: upgrade to 1.9.4.2 "Faanui" - SEO friendly URLs not wor
Did you do an upgrade or create a fresh directory for the new install? Think you might miss the .htaccess file with the rewrite rules for your CMS..
This should point you in the good way. The .htaccess file is in the Docs folder of your CMS.

Hi,
thanks for your reply.
i did an upgrade from 1.8.x > 1.9.x
i thought that the server side rewrite settings etc were not needed due to the 1.9.x CMSMS having 'SEO Friendly URLs'...
is that not the case?

Well I am running the latest version on some sites and I am using the .htaccess file, so I guess you have to
Check the config.php file if all the settings are good and place the .htaccess file. Should get you sorted!

There is no such thing as SEO Friendly Urls, if you're thinking that they will be created automaticly.
The 'new' url feature allows you to specify your own 'very-lenghty-title-for-a-page-if-you-want-it-to-be-very-long-cause-it-might-get-the-page-in-geegle'.
To set this up, first copy the htaccess file for pretty urls (also not the same as seo urls) like Vinyl said, then edit all your pages with a new page url.
Go to the second tab 'Options' of your pages where you'll find 'Page URL'
