Viewing site while editing pages - IE

Using CMSMS 1.9.4.2

Am preparing some images for client instructions on using CMSMS.
I use Firefox, but thought I had better check out IE. Using IE9. Mainly to show clients how to get back to the editing page after viewing their changes. Easier to use images showing the different tabs.

When I opened a page for editing in IE, and clicked on the View Site icon next to Apply, a blank page opened. Have only just updated to IE9 - purely for research purposes - and assumed it would do as I expected. Not!

If anyone is familiar with IE9, how do I set it so that the correct page opens?

Hi Nick,

This is unusual, a blank page shouldn't open unless it's a new tab, and even then it's not blank, a grid showing 'Your most popular sites' opens.

Perhaps there is an issue other than with IE9?

Have you tried with other versions of IE? Safari, Opera?

If you are aren't familiar with coding for cross browser scenarios, it's possible there's an issue with the layout.

A simple mismatched div can cause IE break the layout as it's not as it's not as forgiving as other browsers.

Just thoughts and suggestions, it's a strange case.

Am VERY familiar with IE's problems in the past

There is not an issue with the site in IE9 - looks just as good as Firefox, it is only the CMSMS page editing/view site that is the problem.

Chrome, Safari, Opera, IE 7 and 8 - all work as it should. Just IE9 I get a blank page, even the tab contains only the icon and a little cross.

I have just tried using Preview instead of clicking on the magnifying glass icon, and this works! Looks like I may have to specify special instructions for IE9.

Hmm,

Okay man, no worries.

I can't recreate the issue here with 1.9.4.2, NcleanGrey and IE9. New tabs open and display the page.

Hope it doesn't prove too much of an issue.
