Products module and custom sort

Hello,

I am using the lastest version of the Products module and in the help I've read that you can specific a sortorder for a custom field using this code : sortby="f:fieldname"

I tried inserting in the fieldname part the name of a custom field but the list doesn't get sorted correctly.

Am I missing something here?
