Hi,
I'm on the brink of preparing an inventory management module. The module will be linked to modules Cart and Shop Made Simple. I have prepared a design and what should be in it, but if you have more ideas and I think they make sense, I might push them in.
Current idea is:
- to have locations (sites or store locations);
- vendor item connection (to store catalog info of vendor);
- quantity on hand per item/location;
- automatic transactions from Cart MS to this new module;
- manual transactions with regards to purchase receipts;
- user definable transaction codes (such as scrap/break/stolen...);
- overview of transactions;
- report/export of transactions with their value for financial follow up;
- cycle counting (basic);
- import sales transactions.
In the back of my mind I have an iPhone/iPad solution that allows you to take inventory (with barcoding) on site and send it to website for processing into inventory module.
Shop Made Simple already has basic inventory control. With this inventory module it will be extended. This module will only deliver back end material.
As you see enough for me to work on for the next hours
