I've searched, and found a few hacks to being able to do something like this using FEU, etc.
What I want is to be able to have a handful of affiliates with unique codes/IDs and when they drive traffic to my site the ID is kept either in a cookie (flaky), or something more reliable in the database (if possible?) with an expiry of say 1-2 months. This ID, if exists, is then added into my contact form (which is powered by Zoho CRM instead of the CMSMS forms module) - so that I can track those leads' sources.
I think I've got a pretty good picture of what I want, but what I want is something that is honest and fair for the affiliate - so that they get credit where credit is due, and so that they can also track the stats.
I've considered using a custom short URL service (via bit.ly pro) which will allow them to track their own, I think (or I set up the URLs for them, and deliver reports as needed).
But how to capture that short URL before redirect into a cookie or variable for tracking on my end?
Very open to suggestions.
This has to be tied to the lead form (doesn't have to be Zoho), as I don't have ecommerce, but am a service provider (3d/web).
Thanks.
link tracking/affiliate setup/Cookies?
Re: link tracking/affiliate setup/Cookies?
I'll take it as a no... at least in those who've read it.
This would be a worthwhile ability, IMO. (tracking)

Did you ever find a solution to this?
