I am setting up a new CMS server on RHEL6 x86_64 and I am wanting to secure the administrative log-in to https only so I can use iptables to only allow certain ip ranges access to the server.
The old server has a 'custom-setup' in which it has 2 ip(s) one for the site domain & another ip for the remote admin php access via another ip address.
I am researching CMS, do I need to use another IP for the https:// access or will it use 1 ip?
Any help or guide on locking it down where the administrative options is not available via port 80 would be great.
thanks
How to setup (admin) access via port 443 only
Re: How to setup (admin) access via port 443 only
Is it possible to have the administrative login via https and not through port regular http port 80?
Any advice or how to would be great.
thanks

CMSMS currently does not support having a separate admin URL.

Re: How to setup (admin) access via port 443 only
So there is no way to re-direct to 443 with the admin, like in apache?
Not exactly like a separate URL but something to say when admin is typed in it would go to 443?

Re: How to setup (admin) access via port 443 only
Is there not a way to secure the administrative login with https ?
I am replacing a server with this and the existing server has 2 ip's, I understand this does not work with CMS. However is there a way to secure the administration to forward to 443?
Any ideas/help would be great.
Thanks
