Self Registration Packages Error - No payment needed!-SOLVED

Post by orangefrog »

Okay, I figured out the previous issue with the self registration packages where no mater what setting I had the renewal set at, it was only sending yearly subscriptiosn to PayPal. So basically all I did was hack the source file and changed all the parameters to quarterly. That worked.

Now the issue I'm having is anyone can go through the process of registering then filling out the order form and finally going all the way to the payment via paypal. They can then canel the payment then go through their confirmation e-mail and confirm their registration and gain access to the site.

Now I was going to originally build the site in Wordpress, however when I read CalGuy had built this module, it was the last piece to the puzzle for me to build it in CMS Made Simple.

Now the site is done, well over a hundred pages, all the 70+ videos are in and I can't get this self registration thingy squared away. If anyone, especially CalGuy can help me out here, I would be forever in your debt.

I'm running CMS Made Simple 1.9.3 and the following modules...

FCKeditorX 1.1.0
CGExtensions 1.24
FrontEndUsers 1.12.13
SelfRegistration 1.6.7
CGCalendar 1.5.7
Cataloger 0.9
CustomContent 1.7.3
CGSimpleSmarty 1.4.8
CGBlog 1.7.2
Products 2.10.3
CGEcommerceBase 1.2.4
Cart 1.7.5
CGPaymentGatewayBase 1.0.9
PaypalGateway 2.3.2
Orders 1.11.2
FormBuilder 0.7

Oh the site is here... http://www.songwritercity.com/. And yes, I will delete any new accounts that pop up over the next little while until I can get this figured out so don't worry about setting up accounts, they will be deleted.

Stupid me. There's a checkbox under the Self Reg preferences that allows for newly registered people to confirm their registration. It specifically says to turn this off if you are using paid subscriptions. Man I'm an idiot sometimes. Thanks again CalGuy for another great module. Just if you have time to fix that little issue in regards to only sending yearly subscriptions to the payment gateway, that would be great.

mskeet,

I'm still goofing around with this thing trying to get it to work. I'm working with CalGuy trying to get a solution. Once I have it working, I will help you in anyway that I can. I'll keep you posted.

I was just testing your registration since I can't get mine to work, and I can see it's going in a loop; select the membership, fill out the login info, and then it goes back to the place to select the membership. If you get this working, please let me know how. I'll do the same for you if I finally get mine to work before you do!

I had the same issue, but I got it working. You must tie the SelfReg with Orders: In the back-end, go to Users&Groups - Self Registration Module - Preferences - Paid Registration: Require members to pay for registration to your site = YES and Page ID/Alias to redirect to for paid packages: the page ID/Alias where you have the {Orders} tag. Should work..

What's not working for me is after the payment is processed via PayPal, it returns me to my website, but gives the error: "Your transaction was not completed. Either the operation was cancelled or some other error occurred. Please confirm your payment information and try again. We apologize for this inconvenience. Thank you for your time.". The user is created, but on orders I can see on status "Balance Due (partially paid)", and on total and amount due I have $0.00.

Has anyone made this thing work properly?? If yes, could you please help us too?

I am still working on getting this process to work 100%

I am able to go from registering for the account, to the checkout, to paypal and back to a "your order has been received" page back on the website.

My problem is that the FEU account I created disappears from the Self Reg, and never shows up in FEU.

I am assuming that Paypal IPN is required to make this whole process work (IPN is instant payment notification). I have IPN checked, and the URL provided plugged into the paypal account where the purchase is being made.

I did everything in a live environment (setting the price at a penny), and unfortunately it's still not working.

If anyone cares to donate a penny and give it a try, the URL is http://youthsports.printcopyfactory.com/membership.html

You can shoot me an email at micah at printcopyfactory.com if you care to check what happened.
