Gallery will not install

Post by FirstGateDreamer »

Tried installing the Gallery module but it crashed the entire system front and back. I get the following error.
ERROR 99: Unknown column 'template' in 'field list'
I have the gallery installed on another site on the same server on the same CMS version and no problems.

Sounds complicated but I had 1.0.3 and hadn't used it yet. When I came to use it it told me to upgrade so I did and got the error. Deleted it then uploaded v 1.4.4 via XML and the module page said I was still using v1.0.3. If I hit install it gives me that error. Tried re-installing a few times and different versions with no luck. You will notice the Gallery is listed several times below. Yes I cleared the cache.

Any ideas?

Try to de-install first through the link in the Modules list. Gallery will delete the database tables. If you only delete the Gallery files, the (wrong) database tables will still exist.

Then try to install again.

It doesn't show up in the Modules list because as soon as I install the system crashes.

Can I go into phpMyAdmin and manipulate any tables myself to get rid of any old installs?

PS: I also still have a few images in the Gallery and Thumbnails folders that I will still need.

Yes, you can delete every table that starts with "module_gallery"

You don't need to delete those. They are safe. You will only lose the titles and descriptions that you entered in the gallery-database
