Company Directory SEO Friendly

Hi there.

Been looking for the last couple of weeks how to make the company directory SEO friendly.

problem i have is with the links in this format:-

http://www.rossendale.uk.com/companies/ ... nditioning

Google basically doesnt like it, and will not follow these links

i really could do with it being something like:-

http://www.rossendale.uk.com/companies/Air-Conditioning

I need to add the ?data=xxx so that i can use the category name on the next page, as i cant see how to get that any other way?

Anyone any ideas on this, as i'm lost with this.

i am not sure what you are talking about because the generated urls looking good from companydirectory, example:
http://www.golf-vergleich.de/companies/ ... eting.html

do you want to avoid the IDs in the url? this is currently not possible.

Its on the summary page where i have the problem, the url's generated are not liked by google and from what i can see it will not follow these links.

A link is a link to google. what makes you think it doesn't like them?...

none of them are being followed on google, all other pages on the site work fine, but the directory page is not being spidered through to the individual company pages.

That has got nothing to do with CMSMS, Company Directory or the way urls look...

... that's Google!

Have you tried the new custom url feature? You can now generate a link for every single entry, so you can get rid of the ../2/33/ part in the url, like this:

http://www.website.tld/customname/companyentry

I have a list of 115 companies with the new url, about 40 of them got indexed by google and that took about 3 weeks
I have now added all company urls to my sitemap, maybe that helps.
