I am running php5 and mysql5. Right now I am still running 1.6.9 but working on getting rid of the pageblocks so I can upgrade to the latest version. But for right now I would like to solve this news issue.
I can see the news link as an admin and add/modify/delete news items. But when I log into as user that is member of the page and news group they can't see the news link.
When I go into the permissions I don't see anything related to the news permission;
'Modify News' 'Delete News Articles' 'Approve News' permission.
Is this a database permission problem? I did try to uninstall and reinstall the module, it didn't work. I tried the search on the forums and google, I couldn't find anything about this.
Any help would be really appreciated, thanks.

Most likely News will work after you upgrade, 1.6.9 don't like PHP above 4.*... iirc...
