Hi Folks, I have had to move a site from one host to another.
I copied all the files and uploaded them. Checked the cmods. Imported the database and changed the passwords etc.
Now the site opens with a totally blank page but no apparent error.
Is it better to to do a fresh install, if so what about the imported database etc.

I reinstalled the system and connected the database to the one I restored from the previous site.

OK, just to explain better.
I did a fresh install. I loaded the backed up database from the previous site. I then uploaded & extracted a new install, & updated the config. When installing I pointed at the restored database.
When it was done, the new and old passwords did not match as you cant overwrite your old data(or passwords). I had to use the admin/user in the old database and ended up requesting a password update. At that point I was able to access the admin.
Im not sure about the instructions in the Wiki, but it didnt work the way I expected.
Anyway, back up and running.
