Authority to change order of pages

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

If it isn't a bug, it certainly is causing me problems.

We have a webmaster who can create pages in one section and needs to change the order of them, without having full access.

I have now composed a feature request. Let us hope it will be accepted and built in.

This IS a bug. It just makes no sense at all, since this "feature" is only useful when every editor with page restrictions does never add pages, but only changes the content.

Version prior to 1.6.x had the required "change structure" right, so it seems it simply got lost ...

Anyway, this bug is causing great problems since a number of sites can't be properly maintained anymore, and my clients are NOT amused.

What shall I tell them - "if you want additional editors, we have to move to Joomla" or what??

This is just crazy. My next project which is already in the works explicitly requires additional editors for certain parts only - what the hell shall I do?

Cheers,
Alex

Just to bring it up again. The bug is still unsolved in 1.9.4.1., which is a serious issue meanwhile, since 2 of my installations don't work as intended (I got contracted when 1.5.x was out, which worked properly) and I can't update several others because of this.

Any ideas for a workaround?

I see that the bug report has been closed by simply declaring "this is not a bug".

I don't get it.

It worked perfectly in 1.5.x ... and there is no equivalent user right in the newer versions. AFAIK.

Why has this right ("Modify page structure") been removed? And what is supposed to substitute it? Can someone please clarify this? Rolf?

As it is now, it severely hampers installations in a multi-user environment. It more or less restricts the use of CMSMS for small sites with only one editor. This cannot be the intention of the developers, or is it?

Cheers,
Alex

Hey

I'm having the exact same issue as well.... upgraded site... multiple editors responible for sets of pages.

I do wish that this feature was not removed.
