There is definitely a time zone issue. I was setting up a brand new site using 1.9.4 and had created a dozen pages. This morning I go to create another one and I got the "Content Successfully added" message, but the page never appeared in the list of pages. Same problem as everyone else here reported. So what happened overnight? We set the clocks ahead. We went from EST to EDT. So I changed the config.php time zone from EST to EDT, and not only was I able to add new pages again, the ones I had tried to add earlier magically appeared. (They really had been added successfully - they just were not listed, I guess.) I am not sure why CMSMS is sensitive to the clock setting, but if you are using CMSMS, you must make sure your time zone in config.php is properly set.

its almost like we are stumbling into a "schedule page" publish feature, like wordpress has, just no way to manage it.

could actually be a good thing, if it was manageable at the content editing level.
