cmsmailer and GMail / Google Apps

Im having problems getting cmsmailer to send the messages im sure all the settings are correct but nothing is happening, ive had a read through a few old threads on the forums but havent been able to find a solution, my host is godaddy. Is there something there i should unblock or purchase a SSL Certificate?

I ran into an issue with CMS mailer when I upgraded to 1.8.2 The mailer stopped working while set on SMTP and using Formbuilder. With a bit of searching I found someone having a problem with a different module but the same error message. His workaround was to switch CMSmailer from SMTP to mail.
