Create website on subdomain and copy it to main domain

Hello,

Is it possible to create a website with cms made simple in a subdomain and after finish it in your subdomain to upload / copy it to your main domain?
Because cms made simple requires a complete install I doubt it is possible...

When it is possible can someone please tell me how I can do this?

What I like to do is have my website in a subfolder of my hosting account. If I'm making major changes, upgrade, etc, I'll do it in another subfolder. When I'm happy with the results, I'll point my domain to the new folder, leaving my old one as a backup.
