My first CMSMS site

Post by climberusa »

Just thought I should post this site. It's my first with CMSMS. Just went live although I've still got to figure out how to implement a decent search. Appreciate any feedback.

pretty sharp site.

and i believe a db-based site search is on the map for 1.0. i'm waitin' for it too.
eternity (n); 1. infinite time, 2. a seemingly long or endless time, 3. the length of time it takes a frozen pizza to cook when you're starving.
4,930,000,000 (n); 1. a very large number, 2. the approximate world population in 1986 when Microsoft Corp issued its IPO. 3. Microsoft's net profit (USD) for the quarter (3 months) ending 31 March 2007.

It certainily looks nice. It's a pity that you had to include flash though? Was that a customer requirement or did you bring it up yourself?
Does it add any value for the user? (sorry, flash is disabled on my system)

Yes, flash was requested. Initially I had a random image via php but the customer wasn't satisfied. Why is flash disabled on your comp?

flash is mostly used for advertising, and usually in th emost obtrusive and annoying way. besides I am using debina testing, and I find flash sometimes to memory-hungry when combined with konqueror. So if if really want to see a flash site I have to start up firefox.
Sure you can do great interactive things with flash, but if the ratio good/crap stays as low as it is with flash, I will not bother to turn it on again.
