old News after upgrade have disappeared

hello community,

unfortunately all my old news are deleted after an upgrade to a newer version.
I have made an backup of the whole server but i do not know what files do I have to upload and where in order to get my old news back again?
Where is it that the content of my older news is saved?

Could someone help me? Thank you in advance, delueks

All content including News is in the DB, it sounds like you installed not upgraded, did you do site.com/install/ or site.com/install/upgrade.php?...

No that is how to upgrade, upgrading shouldn't touch any of your news articles, what version did you upgrade from and what other steps did you take to get to this point?...

First I had the Version "Black Rock" (i do not remember de version-number). From there I upgraded the news-modul to the newest version but unfortunately it did not work. Then I thought to upgrade the whole cmsms and so i updated to the latest CMSMS-Version. That didn't work either and because of this I restored the backup-files in order to get agai the "black rock"-Version.. The news-module than didn't work anymore and because of this i installed and removed several times the news-module - without result. I than decided to upgrade cmsms to the version 1.3.1 in order that the news-module-version 2.8.3 works again.

Now the news-module and cmsms works fine, but the old news are not integrated.. this is why I wrote..

All news articles are stored in the DB so you may find them in an old backup of it if you or your host has one, once you started trying to upgrade News w/o upgrading the core CMSMS you were doomed to have problems...
