After installing Gastbuch, the following errors appear when entering content via the content menu (I noticed that the errors do not show up when you visit the site. They show up when I want te edit a page (@ the moment the editor starts???) )

You could try clearing the cache in Admin and clearing your browser cache - what version are you on?

I'm on version 0.12.1
I've cleared the cache on the server, used another browser (IE instead of Firefox), but no luck. The error started after installing Gastbuch. Removing gastbuch did not work either  :-\

Mmmm... I presume you've tried uninstalling and then re-installing FCKeditor?
Have a look at your tmp directory, sometimes replacing this with a clean fresh one can work.
Do you have a database backup?

Hope this helps

I copied /tmp from my pc to the server. No luck.
As far as I know, I have not removed and reinstalled FCKeditor. If I give it a try to remove an install the editor. Does that do any harm???
I can make a backup of the database. The last backup I've made is before some major content changes...

I don't think uninstalling and then re-installing a module does any harm. I'd take another backup. Uninstall FCKeditorX. Clear my cache and replace my tmp directory (encure no cace file in templates - I'd take a clean one from the CMS download) make sure it and subdirectories have 777 rights. Then have a look. If it works back it up again and  then re-install FCKeditor?

Hope this helps.

I don't feel to sure about replacing the backup.

I did the following things:
- uninstalled FCKeditor
- uninstalled gastbuch
- replaced /tmp and it's subdir's
- edit a content page. No errors  :) although all mark up codes were visible, which seems logic.
- installed FCKeditor
- edit a content page. No errors  :)
- installed gastbuch
- edit a content page. Same error again.

I also did a re-install of CMSms without creating new tables. No problem untill I installed gastbuch. Same problem. It drives me crazy...

My conclusion is, that installing gastbuch does make a change to a file/table or so, that is related to the FCKeditor. Main question, what???

So the good news is you can get a site working ;D
I'm not sure I can help with Gastbuch? I've seen it a few times in the forums, but I've not installed it - and probably won't now :-)
I'll pulled it down to have a quick scan and looking at the code it does update the database, but how this affects how things work ? I presume you have tried the authors?

I made a backup of the database. Installed that one on my laptop. Installed gastbuch version 8.0. No errors.

Deleted all tables on the server. Imported the backup, Gustbuch was not installed, edited the content page, no errors. After installing Gastbuch (at the end of the error, I also put a part of the page it's sourcecode, if that helps...) :

Gregor,  did you try using, for instance, TinyMCE instead of FCKEditor?

Katon, I've tried Xinha. This works without any errors. To be honest, I prefer using FCK

Remove the line(s)

Code: Select all

error_reporting(E_ALL);
in gastbuch.module.php

This will turn off the PHP notices caused by the FCKEditor module

[edit]
In gastbuch-0.8.1 the PHP error reporting level is no longer set:

Thanks for your replies!

- I uninstalled Gaastbuch
- deleted all files from the server (only the gastbuch ones  ;) )
- I download gastbuch 0.8.1 to my laptop
- via ftp copied the files to the modules directory
- installed gastbuch
- the module overview shows version 0.8 ???
- try to edit a content page
- still the same error. I copied a part of the page it's source
- the strange thing is, the error does not occur when I do the same things on my laptop ???

Strange. I'm sure the PHP error reporting level is no longer set in 0.8.1.
Theoretically that means that if you are recieving PHP Notices you should get them both with as without the guestbook module installed.
Gregor wrote: - the strange thing is, the error does not occur when I do the same things on my laptop ???
Very strange indeed: you should get the same results accessing the server/page from different computers so this seems some kind of cache issue (now, after installing 0.8.1). Your laptop is not behind a proxy or something? Maybe clearing the browser cache helps?

You can try putting

Code: Select all

error_reporting(E_ERROR);
or

Code: Select all

error_reporting(E_NONE);
anywhere in the code (or do a text-search on "error_reporting" in the cmsms module source files to see if it's set somewehere else. PHP notices are also shown if debugging is turned on in the configuration file.

Ai, correct, my fault... I forgot to update the version number in the 0.8.1 release

[edit]
Updated packages that show the correct version number are now available:
http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/frs/?group ... ase_id=440

BTW: you can make the guestbook on your site show up in dutch if you use the nl_NL locale (easiest if you use the gastbuch content type: just edit the page and enter nl_NL as Locale).

It sure makes a difference if I uninstall Gastbuch --> no errors are shown. As soon as I install Gastbuch, the errors are shown again.

My laptop is not behind a proxy or so. Even before installing 0.8.1 the errors did not occur on my laptop. They only occur on the webserver. My laptop is not used as a permanent webserver, it is just for testing purposes. This is very strange and far from being understandable.

I'll do that 2night.

Could happen to anyone. No problem.

I have made a translated version (except for the help) that I would like to share, only have not yet figured out where to sent to.
