Year range problem in News module

For questions and problems with the CMS core. This board is NOT for any 3rd party modules, addons, PHP scripts or anything NOT distributed with the CMS made simple package itself.

I would start by upgrading to latest version 1.9.2, you are only a couple releases behind ;D

I think the developers didn't want that version to be used after 2010 O0

I had the same issue. I didn't want to upgrade as I'd made a lot of customisations to the news module and didn't want to have to try and redo them.

the solution is to change the file editarticle.pl in modules/News/templates

simply change all the references to "end_year=2010" to whatever year you want!

If the customizations you did to the news module only involved summary templates etc. upgrading won't touch them they will still be there after, if it involved core changes to the php files of news as you suggested in last post here you are no longer supported as we have no idea what you may have done to them...

The logic is, we don't know what you did, if you know enuf to do them you can fix any problems yourself...
