Page numbering up the creek

I seem to have messed up my page numbering somehow, when I view the list of pages I see 6 number 3 section headers each with their own sub pages eg 3.1, 3.2, 3.2....... This makes it impossible to re-order the tabs where I want to see them as using the up and down arrows moves the pages in a seemingly random way. how do I re number the section headings yet keep their sub pages tied to them? tks

What version of CMSMS?...

Most times it can be fixed by hitting the Reorder Pages button then hitting the submit button, w/o having to move any...

Tks a million Dr CSS, that sorted it out, I hadn't dared try the "re order" button in case everything was screwed up even more. Bye
