[Solved] Upgrade from 1.5.3...

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

[Solved] Upgrade from 1.5.3...

Post by LifeSteala »

Hello,
I have a CMS Made Simple site on version 1.5.3. Will it be OK if I upgraded straight to the latest 1.9.2 version? Or are there steps I need to take...

Thanks,
LS

Backup all folders/files, backup DB...

Then you can jump straight to 1.9.2 and if you have any problems you can revert back and go from 1.5.4 to 1.6 to 1.7 to 1.8 to 1.9.2, but I feel you will be fine, don't forget to back up everything...

Hello LifeSteala,

Welcome at the Forum
The website you are trying to upgrade, is it a complex website with lots of modules used? Or is it a small one?

And do you use News, Guestbook, or Album module?

Hi there,

Thanks! - I tried what Dr.CSS said and it appears to have worked. No issues. :) Thanks Dr.CSS and also to Rolf for your contribution.
