Help: Website nav is broken. Anybody know how to fix this?

Post by skarni »

Hey gang,

I'm new to cms made simple.

I wanted to add some custom content into my site's sidebar, so I open the root folder's index.php and add an image source to it. Dreamweaver updated all links, and I uploaded the file back to the root folder.

While my page is displaying, none of the links work. Each link brings me to an identical page, even though the url is correct.

Is there a way to fix this without using a backup?

Thanks,

Jay

When updating, or adding content to a page you never touch the index.php in the root, you go to Content > pages and click the name of the page and use the Content*: edit box, please put the original index.php back in and use the page edit feature...

CMS Made Simple is not like regular flat file sites, everything is done in the admin of the site, where you add templates, style sheets, content, etc...

If you want to add something that shows on every page edit the template in Layout > Templates, best to make a GCB (global content block) then add the call for it in template like the footer GCB...
