string(66) "Smarty error: unable to read resource: "globalcontent:footer-left"

Post by rh5547 »

I recently moved a CMSMS site from another server. Everything seems fine, but there are certain page elements that just aren't displaying. These are:
  • all global content items
    a few modules, including news
The error smarty specific and is as listed in the subject of this post.

The site was running at 1.4.1 when it was first moved but I have since upgraded to 1.9.1 to see if that would help - it hasn't. I have also tried the following:

1. Emptying the cache
2. Checking config parameters (which all seem fine)
3. Checked all the template tags to ensure they are correct
4. Checked the Global content exists in the database
5. Turning on Debug - which shows some other warnings which seem unrelated.

I'm at the point now where I don't know what else to try - I'm happy to get into the code and start debugging but could do with some advice as to where to start.

Thanks for your help.

Did your GCBs get migrated, specifically "footer-left" ?

Hi, yes, all GCB's were migrated. This error is just one example, but the smarty error is cropping up for all GCB's including new ones I create.

Put the install folder from your version of cmsms and run install, but...

IN STEP 5 DON'T CREATE TABLES OR INSTALL DEFAULT CONTENT, 2 ticks at the bottom of DB info page, this will clean any path errors etc...

Hi, thanks for this.

I tried as you said - installing the site again to correct the paths. Unfortunately though, it looks like I had configured them all correctly in the config file.

The errors are still displaying. Any more advice on how I can get to the bottom of this would be very appreciated.

I recently migrated as well... I installed the new version and it worked perfectly fine... recently I started getting

"string(64) "Smarty error: unable to read resource: "globalcontent:css_files"" string(64) "Smarty error: unable to read resource: "globalcontent:css_files""

string(71) "Smarty error: unable to read resource: "globalcontent:google_analytics"" string(71) "Smarty error: unable to read resource: "globalcontent:google_analytics"" string(63) "Smarty error: unable to read resource: "globalcontent:js_files"" string(63) "Smarty error: unable to read resource: "globalcontent:js_files"" string(63) "Smarty error: unable to read resource: "globalcontent:feedback"" string(63) "Smarty error: unable to read resource: "globalcontent:feedback""

I didn't change anything in the code ... tried the reinstall ... didn't work... is there a possible way to migrate to an older version?

I actually figured out the core problem behind it... while I was going through the error logs I found there were heaps of errors from the twitter module... once I removed it my website started functioning perfectly... I tried installing it crashed... Is there a newer version of the twitter module...?
