[SOLVED] Problem with CGGoogleMaps

Post by sander »

Hi there,

I have a problem with CGGoogleMaps. I upgraded to the latest version, 2.0.3.
Now, on the page I want to have the maps, I get the alert

'JQuery is required for this map to function'

I tried to insert a link to a jquery.js file, with no result.

Any ideas?

Kind regards,

Sander

It may require the jQuery module, look in Help to see...

Thanks for your reaction.
The Jquery module is not mentioned in the dependencies, but I will try to install and come back.

Your problem is exactly what message says, 'JQuery is required for this map to function'
Possibly your path to jquery.js was worng?

Add

inside your   tag in template.

Correct me if I'm wrong -
You could also install the js script in a js folder in your root
with the link:

making the external call unnecessary

@spike Correct whatever you prefer, but than again if that one more call is so important you have to stop using analytics and other external stuff  ;)
At the end i won't profit that much from one less request but save my time if i want to update my jquery framework, by changing only one number or even not to worry about until 1.5 by using http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jq ... /jquery.js.

You can also read this why CDN http://gem-session.com/2010/06/speeding ... -as-jquery
