Album Module, Add album to Menu

Post by Slewey »

Hi,

I think I've seen this before, but it can't remember where or how.
But I'm using the Album module for creating several photo-albums.
Now what I would like is add those albums a seperate pages to the menu.
So you add New Content from the Pages section and at the Content Type dropdown, you select Album.

I think I did that before, maybe some older version, but I album is currently not in the dropdown.
So now I'm confused, was this ever a feature or just a wish from me? :)

I'm using CMS Made Simple 1.7.1 "Escada" with Album Module 0.9.3

Thanks

Make a new page with the name off the album, in the content you place
{cms_module module='album' detailpage='album_name'}
Something like this?

CMS Made Simple 1.7.1 "Escada"  is no longer supported, only 2 versions back are supported...

I've actually seen this work on older versions as well.
It just seems like the Content Type isn't made correctly when Installing the Albums module.
It's more likely a "bug" in the module instead of the cmsms core, so I doubt upgrading would fix this.

Well what the Doctor is trying to say: On this forum there is just no support for other CMS versions than 1.9.1 and 1.6.8.
You should always upgrade to latest version of CMSMS, just to be protected against possible security issue's.

The last update to Album module was in Feb 2008, so we can safely say that the module is not being supported anymore as well.

What's wrong with the solution provided in the second post to this thread?

Ah, sorry, didn't know that.

I still hope someone can confirm my problem.
What I mean is that I think (90% sure) that in an even older version of CMSMS and Album you could select 'Album' as Content Type when creating a new page.

See screenshot:

After selecting Album as Content Type, you then had a dropdownlist to select an album.
This is a more user-friendly solution then suggested in post #2, since I'm not maintaining the content myself.

Can anyone confirm if the Content Type Album indeed got removed (or was never there) at some version? So I can stop looking and wondering :)

And I will upgrade CMSMS, but I can't do that right now :)

Thanks

No, there is no Content Type: Album, hasn't been for a while and will never be again, sorry...

Make a page, add album tag...
