Need htaccess help urgently

Post by lprintz »

Hello all!

I need to solve the htaccess riddle once and for all. I've attached my script which isn't working, feel free to debug or simply provide me a script that works. I appreciate your help!

I'm just trying to do 3 'simple' things...

1) SEO friendly URL - this seems to work fine
2) www redirect - this works HOWEVER when entering a non-www address it gives me the NON SEO friendly URL!
3) 404/301 redirects - this worked BEFORE I mucked with the www stuff. Now here's what it does:
404 - file not found
301 - it adds the correct URL TWICE after a '?'

I hope to get some CMSMS assistance as the other redirects DO work when I have SEO-friendly URLs turned off.

I'm really fed up and I use CMSMS for MANY clients...I just need one, clean htaccess that I can reproduce over and over and get some sleep!

Thanks so much guys!

This doesn't really help. I know why you shot me off to a 3rd party site but this IS CMSMS related.

I was able to get the www/301/404 redirects to work WITHOUT the SEO friendly URLs...I just can't seem to get all 3.

Doesn't anybody out there have an .htaccess file already built that I can use?

Thanks so much!

I'm sure somebody else is using an htaccess that has redirects, etc. but they are site specific which is why I sent you to the htaccess site to see what they recommend for them...
