Packt Publishing is pleased to announce that CMS Made Simple has won the Open Source CMS Award category in the 2010 Open Source Awards. CMS Made Simple has won this Award for the first time in the past five years, having been a presence in the Award since 2007.

“This really tops off a great year for all of us! Our development team bonded more than ever this year at the Geek Moot in Amsterdam where we came together from all corners of the world. The results of that did not pass by unnoticed. I want to thank them and also our dedicated community members for the fantastic cooperation that has led us here today.” Said CMS Made Simple founder Ted Kulp.

Robert Campbell, CMS Made Simple project manager added, “We value the recognition we've received through this award. It motivates us more than ever to continue our mission to provide the best CMS for professional web designers and developers.”

“CMS Made Simple is extremely easy to install and configure, whilst having lots of features, functionality and providing helpful and highly readable documentation.” Said Karen A. Coombs, Open Source writer, Product Manager for OCLC Developer Network and one of the judges for the Open Source CMS category.“The system is fantastic to use from a content editor, designer, developer and administrator perspective.”

While CMS Made Simple occupied the top spot in the 2010 Open Source CMS category, extremely popular finalist SilverStripe, who grabbed the second runners up spot in last year’s Open Source CMS Award, secured the first runner up position. MODx, the first runners up in the 2009 Open Source CMS Award, this year will have to settle for the second runners up position.

This announcement marks the last day of the 2010 Open Source Award. The Award continued to be a great success with over 7,000 nominations received and over 24,000 votes received across six categories.

Is there any page on their site that describes how they came up with this decision? I can't find one.

This really is fantastic. :)
