WYSIWYG broken in 1.9?

Post by n5zap »

I have a new installation of 1.9, and for some reason every new page that I create has the "Disable WYSIWYG" checkbox on by default.  Also, unchecking the box does not bring up TinyMCE.  I have selected TinyMCE as the default editor, have not disabled it globally, and am stumped.  Even in the testing area for TinyMCE I have no toolbars, even though I have enabled all options and toolbars on the TinyMCE plugin configuration page.

I have also tried different templates, to no avail.

Anyone have any ideas of how to get TinyMCE back?  ???

There are some issues with TinyMCE in 1.9. This is fixed in SVN, and will be shipped with the upcoming 1.9.1

Thanks!  I'm using FCKEditor for now, which has quirks of its own but is letting me use WYSIWYG.  I'll be on the lookout for 1.9.1.

The 1.9 version rocks, BTW.  Seems much snappier than the 1.8 version I played with last.

I had the same problem on several sites when I upgraded... unfortunately I don't remember exactly how I fixed it. Basically I tried various combinations of unticking the WSIWYG box in the pages and Global-->General Settings. Note: there are four places where it's set (not counting in templates). Fortunately I blamed the problem on my (dodgy) update scripts rather than v1.9.
All good now. :-)
