First some specs: I am using XXAMP under Win7 with CMS-MS 1.8.2.
I have created a site for an academic dept. with the frontend Users/CGDirectory modules. Each faculty member has a profile page that they can edit themselves using a frontend users login. In the properties section of Frontend Users I have set the textareas to be edited with a WYSIWYG on the Change settings page. I have to assume that the WYSIWYG is the TinyMCE editor. Therefore, when the editor shows up in the change setting page for the frontend user to edit their profile page without any toolbars I went looking through the TinyMCE settings to find a way to add toolbars onto the editor window. I found the Extensions - TinyMCE WYSIWYG - Profiles section. There are 3 profiles settings listed there; Backend, Advanced backend, Frontend. I have configured the Frontend one to suit my needs but I cannot find anyway to 'turn on' the tool bars for the front end user.
So my questions are:
1. Is my assumption about the WYSIWYG being TinyMCE corrent?
2. What does the Backend, Advanced backend, Frontend profiles do? (is my guess correct about the Frontend profile controlling the TinyMCS window in the pages presented to the Frontend Users)
3. How do I get the TinyMCE (or WYSIWYG) window to display the toolbars on the windows in the pages presented to the Frontend users?
Thanks,
Chris
TinyMCE Toolbars for frontend user
Re: TinyMCE Toolbars for frontend user
All I've ever done in this forum was ask questions - so this will be my first response!
2) You can save the advanced features for admins and other trusted users, while the basic backend profile is for general back-end users
3) Under 'Site Admin' click on 'Global Settings' - you will see a checkbox that asks you to choose your 'Frontend wysiwyg' - click TinyMCE.
1) Yes, you are correct - the Frontend uses TinyMCESo my questions are:

Re: TinyMCE Toolbars for frontend user
You may also want to go to Extensions » TinyMCE WYSIWYG > Profiles and make sure you are only giving the "front end profile" the things you want them to have as it looks like it gives them quite a lot...
