Upgraded to 1.9 - get CGblog error message [SOLVED]

Post by rubberglover »

I just upgraded to CMSMS 1.9 (awesome new URL features and love the new default admin theme!)... All went smoothly except I am getting an error message when I visit the CGBlog page from the content menu:

Code: Select all

string(128) "Smarty error: [in temporary template line 1]: syntax error: unrecognized tag 'JQueryTools' (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 590)" string(128)
"Smarty error: [in temporary template line 2]: syntax error: unrecognized tag 'JQueryTools' (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 590)"
I've reinstalled CGBlog and reinstalled JQueryTools and the error message remains... anyone else had this?

Cheers,
Andy

Seems like problem with JQueryTools are you sure tag is correct? I did an upgrade with CGBlog installed everything went well.

I've got the same problem. Clean new install of 1.9, newest versions of CGExtensions, CGSimpleSmarty, JQueryTools and CGBlog. Same setup as I'm using on my 1.8.2 site, where everything works just fine.

I get the error message, but I can still add new blog entries, only the custom url feature doesn't work. When I try to write the custom url by hand, it's saved but clicking on the detail link in the frontend gives me a 404 error.

I tried reinstalling the modules, I tried using earlier versions of the modules, I tried different setups/options. Nothing. The issue persists.

Not sure what happened here... I ended up having to completely uninstall and remove CGBlog and all it's dependencies, and a couple of others, then reinstall them all from scratch. Bit of a ball ache but sorted now at least :-)

Here's the modules I removed completely:

CGBlog
CGExtensions
CGFeedback
CGSimpleSmarty
jQueryTools

I then started by installing CGBLOG and let it install it's dependencies automatically... Then I put the other modules back on. I got busy with PhpMyAdmin to retain my data - backed up the DB tables for each module (anything prefixed 'CMS_MODULE_' followed by the module name, eg. CMS_MODULE_CGBLOG, CMS_MODULE_CGBLOG_CATEGORIES etc.), and backed up entries in the CMS_MODULES_TEMPLATES table relating to each of the above modules, then loaded them all back in one by one. Seems to be working ok now...

If anyone can find a more elegant solution it would probably save Panthus a lot of trouble! :-)

*Edit* Just noticed that Panthus is using a clean install... now I'm really confused! If Panthus is getting these problems on a clean install it must be something above and beyond an upgrade anomally?

Haha! If that fixes it then it's proof that you should probably leave a problem for half an hour and have a nice cold beer before you do anything drastic! Thanks for letting us know...

Yes this should of fixed your jQueryTools error  :)
Regarding Pnthus's problem with CGBlog and custom url, it could be possible that cgblog wasn't updated for this function yet, i didn't test this on my blog so can't say much.

Yeah, I still have the same problem as Panthus with the URL field... it seems that on CMSMS 1.9 you can no longer specify a custom URL for a blog post in CGBlog. I guess it is in conflict with the new URL system in place for core content?

I think calguy will update these soon but you could also submit a bug report for this  :)

Will do... there's also an error message under the categories tab:

Code: Select all

string(153) "Smarty error: [in module_file_tpl:CGBlog;admin_categoriestab.tpl line 21]: syntax error: unrecognized tag 'cgimage' (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 590)"
I'll report that too :-)

Yep, brand new version of JQueryTools gets rid of the error message.  :)
For the CGBlog custom url problem we'll have to wait for a new release.

cgimage is in CGExtensions.
v1.21 of CGextensions should fix the problem.
