New Music Producer Site

Post by spcherub »

Happy to announce the launch of the new Whale Heart Records site at http://www.whaleheartrecords.com

Original design by Luke Hughett (http://www.lukehughett.com/), and execution (HTML/CSS/CMSMS) by yours truly.

Based on CMSMS 1.8.2, I was also able to put the following modules to good use:
AdvancedContent
CGSimpleSmarty
FormBuilder
GBFilePicker
RSS2HTML (would love an updated version)

Thanks,
Sanjay

Absolutely awsome! Love the style and design. Great job.

Question, what did you use for the store? Is it CMS MS modules or something different?

@wishbone - Thanks!

@orangefrog - Thanks! and no, I was not able to use the CMSMS SMS module for this. It actually links out to a separate record/album store site on Bandcamp (http://bandcamp.com/) which is why the layout and styling is different. The plan is to integrate the store into the site in a future revision at which point I will be paying more attention to modules such as Products and SMS.

Nice!!!!! There is a javascript syntax error. Whenever I have those it barely registers in good browsers but in IE (any version) there is usually something annoying going on.

@carasmo - Thanks for letting me know. I don't see any error messages on the JS console in FF or Chrome. I also tested it on IE8 (not lesser) and it looked ok.Can you tell me what you are experiencing?

TIA,

Flash.... no sorry!
If people visit your site and have to wait like 5 - 10 sec, they 'll leave your page.

@Perdosken - There's no flash on the site itself. The only place flash is (probably) used is in embedded (iframe) video from Vimeo. The animations are done using jQuery (Javascript).

Did you have to wait 5-10 seconds for the page to load?

@per: The slides are done with jQuery on the frontend. I use the jCarouselLite library to get this effect. It is pretty easy to setup and implement. JCarousel is another option with more features, but is a little harder to setup.

Thanks for the compliments.
