Hello :-
I have put this out to a few people already, via email, but haven't had any replies yet.
I am putting together a quote for a client, to build a website with CMSMS and it has become apparent quite quickly that the requirements are beyond my current abilities. I have used CMSMS for a couple of years and built 6 or 7 sites . I am a graphic designer / front end designer by trade, fairly techy, but NOT a developer.
I would set the site up, hosting / css / design and install all the modules.
What I need help with is some module customisation / integration. I don't think it's a big deal, I just don't know how to do it myself.
I was hoping that you would be able to give me an indication of how much you would charge to do the work and how long it would take.
* Site Overview *
Basically, this is a dedicated website for a photographic competition.
Images can be entered up until the closing date of the competition, after which, images are shortlisted and put into galleries on the website.
There are three themed categories in which to enter ( each with an under 16's catgeory )
All photos to be captioned by photographer letting us know where and why you took them. Entries are limited to four per person.
Then, the public can VOTE for their favourite image, up until another cut-off date.
*******************************************
The things that I would need help with are :-
1) Customising the upload form
2) The voting mechanism
------------------------------------------
1) Uploading files
Initially, I thought of using the uploads module, I have used this before, and have got on ok with it. I would then modify the summary template to display a gallery (as documented on the Calguy blog )
However, I would need to add extra fields to the upload template and add a dropdown for the category ( and possibly some logic for the age )
Field requirements :-
Name
Address
Phone
Email
Photo caption
Where taken
Why did you take the photograph
Age ( over 16 / under 16 )
Category
Then I thought of using Formbuilder ( I can easily add all the fields that I need ) and use a file upload field, and utilise the advanced tab, to dump the uploaded file into the Uploads module.
2 problems with this, preventing me from doing it :-
A) There is an inherent bug with the "dump the uploaded file into the Uploads module" option still. The error I get is :- "Fatal error: Call to protected method Uploads::AttemptUpload() from context 'fbForm' in /home/naturel/public_html/modules/FormBuilder/classes/Form.class.php on line 2375". I Cannot correct this, or find any fix on the forum.
B) I only have the option here to dump the uploaded file into ONE nominated uploads category ( through the formbuilder advanced tab ). I would prefer to have a dropdown on the front end form, so the user could select which category they were uploading to.
------------------------------------------
2) The voting mechanism
Although I have an understanding of how the uploading might work, this part is beyond me.
I have installed "ballots", but have never used it. I have also installed FEU, but again, have never used it.
I would need something that enabled a user to vote on each image in the gallery individually.
It would also have to stop people abusing the system by continually voting for the same image.
The problem here, preventing me from doing it, is that do not know how to combine module templates. ie :- As I see it, I would have to include reference to the "ballots" module, inside the "uploads" summary template and I don't know how to do this.

I look forward to your reply.
I do need to get a quote submitted ASAP, so if you are interested and availble, it would be much appreciated if you could get back to me in the next couple of days.
If you have any further queries, please ask, I will try and clarify anything to the best of my abilities.
many thanks - please PM me with reply

Were you able to make this happen? If so, can you share the link?
