HOW TO Undo Deleted Content!

Running CMSMS on a Mac Book Pro OSX 10.6 / Browser: Safari 5.0.2

Help Needed Please!!

I'm sorry I made a very very stupid mistake  :(

I wanted to just add a Facebook page badge to the home page of our Microsite, so I (rather stupidly) changed the Content Type from 'Content' to : 'External Link' with the intention of just adding an External Facebook link to the page which already has text and photo content. I hit 'Apply' thinking it would not be really saved until I hit 'Submit'. Of course what that means is that the whole content of the page changed to an external link (which didnt work anyway).

The problem is that it seems all the original content (Text, photos and a film) have been deleted.

Is there any way to undo this action or retrieve the content that was originally on this page.

I would be very very grateful for any help anyone can offer.

Hello,

You do not have a backup?
Well, your files should be somewhere under /uploads.
That's usually the place where images and media are stored and you should find things there or in a subdirectory of it.

For the text of the page .....
if you're lucky you still have it in the database:
Content is stored in cms_content_props in the field content_en.

Im managing someone else's content, so I did not upload the content in the 1st place, so i don not directly have a back up myself but Im sure that there is with the main admin.

For the text in the database I will have a look and check.

How do I access the database to find : cms_content_props in the field content_en ??

If you change the contenttype of a page no data will be deleted. (No files, no images, no videos and no text...)
If you change it back to content again your page content (text ect.) should be still there again.

Well I tried that but the content fields are still empty and when I click on 'Apply' I just get the message "No Content given"

You could try going back in your browser history to the unchanged page.

At one time it did make it so if you changed from one type of content to another then changed it back, even after submitting it, it would show the previous content etc., the system doesn't do that any more, sorry...
