Upgrade holds on step 5 after that blank pages

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

Upgrade holds on step 5 after that blank pages

Post by Calimer0 »

hello all,

My upgrade of 1.6.6 to 1.8.2 holds on step 5, after that, the website and the admin aren't showing up. They keep loading...
No error is shown in the error_log of the webpage.
The server runs PHP 5.2.12 so it should work...

I first tried the upgrade locally, and that seems to work.
The website is: http://www.alcmariavictrix.nl

thanks for your help

edit 27-9: The problem doesn't seem to be solved. The strange thing was that apache was hanging due to the upgrade, there were aprox 400 processes of apache running.
Has anyone had this problem before?

I think it has something to do with upgrading the modules...
anyone know what it could be?

Baby steps.  That's all I can say when upgrading from an older version like that to the newest version.

I've ran into the exact same problem.  For the longest time I was trying to upgrade a site from 1.5 to 1.8 and it wouldn't work.  So I upgraded to 1.5.4, then 1.6, then 1.6.1, then 1.6.2, then...I think you get the pictures.  I eventually got up to the latest version.  It takes a while, but it works.  Every time I hit a number like 1.5 or 1.6 or 1.7 in my upgrade, I would log into the admin console and upgrade any modules first.  I found having the modules upgrade first before upgrading the CMSMS worked better for me.

Do you still have this problem?

Hope the above works?
