Insert/edit image not working

Post by Westside »

When we try and insert an image through insert/edit button, we can browse and select an image that we have uploaded previously, but when we try and insert we only get a blank box with the text of the image name.

For example, the image we might select would be uploads/images/logo1.gif, which comes up in the insert/edit image button, however when we click insert, upon examining the issue further by turning off wysiwyg, it appears to not be linking to the url of the image, and in the code, we get only:

So it is not linking to the URL of the image when we use insert/edit image.

Now we have tried this with many different images and uploaded new ones and it happens each time. And what is weird is it used to work but all of a sudden stopped working for some reason.

There is a workaround where we can manually go into the code and insert the URL of the image, which works and shows the image fine. However this can be extremely tedious with lots of images.

We are using CMS Made Simple 1.2.5 "Free Hill"

Can anyone help - we are newbies :)

Thx
Tom

Your CMSms is more than 2y old - nobody remembers what was then.

a. do backup  your site (DB and files).
b. restore site on test server (usually your own PC and XAMPP or WAMP server)
c. upgrade test site to CMSms 1.8.2.
d. do the same thing to production site or move test site to server (if content is not changed).

Here are more detail instructions http://wiki.cmsmadesimple.org/index.php ... stallation
