TinyMCE dropdown boxes not working

eg HTML, links, images etc

I have just upgraded a site from 1.2 to 1.7 CMSMS.  MySQL version  5.0.91-community
PHP version 5.2.9.

TinyMCE boxes did not work so uninstalled the previous version and installed the latest version 2.7.3. Still did not work, so uninstalled and re-installed it. Still not working.

I am sure I have seen a solution somewhere but can't find it using 'search'.

Anyone with a better memory than mine?

Many things can effect tiny, have you tried looking in search for the solution?...

Well....

1) I have gone to tiny admin and on advanced tab down near bottom hit the "reset all settings to default" button...

2) The Modules and Tiny's folders permissions were already set to 755, though a lot of single files within that folder are set to 644.

3) I have uninstalled & installed Tiny about 3 times so far.

Nothing doing at all I'm afraid.

I just wonder if it is all to do with the upgrade I did from 1.2 to 1.7 though Tiny worked fine in 1.2.

I am sure that there is a simple answer to this but....
