I need to create some pages on a website and then provide the client a way to password protect them so only registered users can see the pages. Can this be done using CMSMS? Does the program provide a way to maintain the passwords? Does anyone know a program that will work with CMSMS to provide this feature?
I need to quote a job by the end of the week - so your responses will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Sue

Re: Passwords
If you take a look at the modules... Frontendusers, and Customcontent, this should do all you require
There is a visual tutorial in how to create users and password protected pages on here... http://wiki.cmsmadesimple.org/index.php ... _Tutorials, number 4

Re: Passwords
Thanks for such a prompt and very explanitory response (love the fact that there are videos - my job will be so much easier! and teh pdf looks helpful too) - can you confirm that you can apply this protection to only a few pages not the entire site? And also once logged the visitor can access any of the protected pages (without logging in for each one)?
And one more question - can I use java scripts with CMSMS? I will need to have a page that lists members of the organization and will need the list to be sorted by different colums. I have found a java script that will work but I just need to know that I can use it with CMSMS.
I appreciate your responses as I need to provide an estimate for a client (for which I may not get a job) and appreciate not having to do hours of research to be sure this will as I need.

Re: Passwords
JS is called in the template etc. just like in other templates, the only thing you have to worry about is if they use { } in them, if so wrap them in {literal} the code {/literal}, so smarty won't try and run it...
Re: Passwords
Yes, to all of the above. You can protect only individual pages, or the entire site, and once logged in the visitor can move between protected pages without needing to log in again.designbysue wrote: Thanks for such a prompt and very explanitory response (love the fact that there are videos - my job will be so much easier! and teh pdf looks helpful too) - can you confirm that you can apply this protection to only a few pages not the entire site? Re: Passwords
Thanks so much - it looks like CMSMS will do all I need for this site! I'll take a shot at the bid. If I get the job, I'll be back!
