no updates

Post by godchaser »

Hi everyone.
I don't understand why, suddenly, my CMSms doesn't works when I update my contents (pages, or even global configuration issues).

Until last month, more or less, it worked all very well.

Can anyone help me?

Well erm... if i just say "my computer is not starting anymore" how many people can actually help me? Some people would say useless stuff like "Plugin the power supply", "Press the power button" or "Turn on your monitor" ...

Actually no one can really help me because no one knows what computer i have and what specifications etc. ... ;)

Uhm...

My CMSms version is 1.2.5 ("Free Hill"). Domain name is www.messaggeridipace.it (but probably this is not important for you!).

When I update a page content, it seems to be updated, but when I check on my website page, I don't see my edit. And when I open again the page from my admin panel, everything is like before I edited the page...

The current recommended CMSms Version is at least 1.6.8 or 1.8.2.
There has been some security fixes.
1.2.5 is quite old, not secure, maybe unstable ...
So you should think about an upgrade to at least 1.6.8 (depends on your server configuraion).
But be sure your site has not been hacked (what maybe could the reason for the error)

Sorry to tell you that, but for me it is not possible to get the solution for that version.

Ok, think it's good to update, even I'm not convinced this is the problem's cause.

So, how can I simply update my CMSms to latest version? Because I cannot find, in the official CMSms website, a way to update my version without losting everything I have on-line.

There's Documentation for this, and many posts on the same topic.

Have you checked your host to see if they updated anything like maybe the PHP to a newer version as the older versions of CMSMS don't work so well with newer PHP...

You will need to check before you upgrade to make sure it has all the requirements to run latest version cmsms 1.8.*...
