Need help resolving a PHP error!

Post by bc0kila »

Our web site has been down for a week.  When users try to access the site, this error is displayed:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/content/v/s/u/vsufoundation/html/index.php:24) in /home/content/v/s/u/vsufoundation/html/index.php on line 296

Also, when others try to access the site that have Norton software, the site is blocked.  Norton provides this Risk Name: HTTP Malicious Javascript Encoder 5.

Help!!!

you might want to turn debug on in the config.php file, to see what causes the error.

Hello bc0kila

I visited your website, and also my virusscanner popups...
Sorry to say that your website has been hacked and there will be some wrong code/files on your server which is the cause of the problem...

Do you have a backup of this website, you can put back on the server?

grtz. Rolf

Hello bc0kila,

Great to read your website is up and running again ;) Looks nice by the way.

The PHP error was probably caused by some infected code in your index.php. I have seen it come by many times. Note, just deleting this code will fix your homepage for now, but it won't fix the hacked website!! There will be a non-CMSMS file/script on your server which will infect your files over and over again... I hope your developer has checked this also...

Beside that I noticed your CMS version is very old. Since then there have been many security fixes. We strongly advice you to upgrade the CMS to the latest version depending on your PHP version.

Regards, Rolf  :)

Ps. Would you please be so kind and put [solved] in the title of the first post, you can use the Modify button for this.
